Abstract

The development of technology and the flow of globalization in the modern era have brought various influences on people’s lifestyles, including the process of children’s education and character building. This condition requires parents, especially mothers as the first madrasa for their children, to have the ability to implement proper parenting patterns based on Islamic values. This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding and skills of Fatayat and Muslimat mothers in Sumengko Hamlet in implementing Islamic parenting to shape children’s noble character amid the challenges of technological development. The method used in this activity was service learning through mentoring, seminars, discussions, and knowledge-sharing approaches. The stages of the activity included social mapping (need assessment), program planning, coordination with partners, implementation of the Islamic parenting seminar, as well as evaluation and follow-up of the program. The seminar was conducted on September 1, 2025, involving Fatayat and Muslimat mothers of Sumengko Hamlet as the main participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of the mother’s role in children’s character education, the implementation of Islamic parenting, and the management of children’s use of digital technology. This program also had a positive impact in increasing public awareness of the importance of character education based on Islamic values within the family. Therefore, this Islamic Parenting Seminar was able to strengthen the capacity of mothers as the primary educators in the family while supporting the formation of a religious, morally upright generation that is prepared to face the challenges of the modern era.
