Abstract

The community mentoring program in Talun Village, Nganjuk, aims to enhance understanding and skills in burial handling according to Islamic law. The program stages encompass social analysis, program development, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and funding. Close collaboration with the Yasin and Manaqib congregations, along with KPM students, is pivotal for success. Evaluation indicates significant improvements quantitatively and qualitatively, supported by active participation from partners and positive participant feedback. Findings underscore the urgent need to enhance burial handling skills in the area, emphasizing alignment with Islamic principles. This mentoring initiative positively contributes to community understanding and skills, in line with the socio-cognitive theory's emphasis on learning through observation and participation in social contexts. Success isn't solely measured by practical skill enhancement but also by deeper understanding of Islamic burial principles. The program holds potential to strengthen the religious identity and awareness of the local community.
