Abstract

Education financing is a crucial aspect of any educational institution, as every activity or program requires funding. Without proper financing, operational activities within educational institutions cannot run effectively. Education financing can be considered good if the income and expenditure are balanced and align with the pre-established plans. This study aims to analyze the issues surrounding education financing in Indonesia. Although education funding in Indonesia has increased from around 10 percent of the national budget (APBN) to 20 percent, the financing has not yet reached its full potential. The researcher utilized a library research method, gathering data from various sources such as books, articles, proceedings, and environmental analyses. The findings of this study reveal that education financing in Indonesia includes direct and indirect financing, private financing, social costs, and monetary funding. The challenges faced in education financing in Indonesia include unequal access to education, low quality and relevance of education, and issues with education standards. The financing system in Indonesia encompasses investment financing, operational financing, and personal financing. Based on the findings and analysis, it is hoped that education financing in Indonesia will improve, particularly in enhancing teacher welfare, with special attention to honorary teachers, as well as increasing the allocation of operational aid funds to ensure better education in Indonesia.
