Among college students, mental health is an increasingly important issue. College is a transitional period full of challenges, where students have to adjust to a new environment, meet high academic demands, manage finances, and often live far from their families. Identifying the factors that cause stress in college students is an important step to understanding and overcoming this problem. Stressors that affect students can be categorized into two main types: internal and external. Internal factors include self-imposed expectations, mental and physical well-being, ineffective time management, search for self-identity, and uncertainty about the future. On the other hand, external factors include academic demands, financial difficulties, social interactions, living arrangements, learning environment, economic conditions, lack of social support, and pressure from the academic environment. To overcome existing challenges, a person can apply a series of effective strategies: prioritize time management, apply relaxation techniques and mindfulness practices, seek counseling and support from others, and engage in physical activity and exercise.
