Abstract

Curriculum development is an activity to develop an idea or idea related to a new curriculum by using potential parts of the curriculum. Curriculum development needs to be carried out in order to prepare a generation that is ready to face the challenges of contemporary developments. Teachers have a very important role in curriculum development because teachers are people who are directly involved in helping the development of students and people who play a role in implementing the curriculum in order to evaluate deficiencies or obstacles faced in implementing the curriculum. Curriculum development has several stages starting from determining general objectives, planning, testing (which is carried out on a limited basis) and revision, field testing (more widely), implementing the curriculum simultaneously and finally monitoring the quality of the curriculum which is carried out in order to analyze whether the curriculum has there are many weaknesses and deficiencies that require changes and improvements. Among several teacher roles in curriculum development are as implementer, adapter, curriculum researcher, learning designer, learning motivator, learning artist, learning mediator, and curriculum learning inspirer.
