The spread of Islam in Java was inseparable from the efforts of the saints by taking a mystical approach (tasawuf). The application of this approach was based on the consideration that the life of the Javanese society was based on Hindu and Buddhist beliefs whose core teachings were mystical life. As a result, many Javanese society were attracted to and adhere to and practice Islamic teachings in a way that was often mixed with teachings previously adhered to. The teachings of Catur Pi Wulang/Goro cover the way of human life as social beings, namely mutual respect and mutual assistance. He also has expertise in the arts, as evidenced by the gamelan set called "Singo Mengkok." East Java is known as an area that has a lot of religious tourism. This cannot be separated from the many historical evidences of the spread of various religions in Java, which was the area chosen by many Wali Songo in spreading Islam in the archipelago, one of which was Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim and Raden Qasim or Sunan Drajat. This study aims to explore data about the role of Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim and Raden Qasim in the process of da'wah and the Islamization of Javanese society so that Javanese society can switch from Hindu-Buddhist religion to Islam. The results of this study describe the first that the role of Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim is very large, historical facts stated the role of Syekh Maulana Malik Ibrahim in the Islamization of Java Island for the Gresik area and its surroundings with the da'wah method through the trade route and the Islamic boarding school educational route. Furthermore, the results of the second study on the role of Raden Qasim in the spread of Islam in Java are contained in the term "Pepali Pitu" or the seven foundational teachings of life by Raden Qasim.
