Abstract

The library is a place for people who want to add knowledge through recreation,
research, and education. For students, the library is a suitable place to develop their education
and knowledge; all of these things can be obtained when they visit the library. Librarians have
several strategies that can encourage students to like going to the library and even develop an
interest in reading. The method used by researchers is library research, which is a research
activity and study of literature and literature sources intensely and in depth. Every stage of
research carried out will rely on various authentic sources that are reliable and representative.
This research produces 1) A library is a room, part of a building, or the building itself that is
used to store books and other publications that can be stored according to a certain arrangement
for readers' use, not for sale. 2) Library management activities include planning, organizing,
implementing, budgeting, leading, and supervising the library. 3) Interest in reading is an active
tendency of the soul to understand language patterns in order to obtain information that is
closely related to wills, activities, and feelings of pleasure, which potentially allow individuals
to choose, pay attention to, and accept something that comes from outside themselves. 4) In
order to increase interest in reading, the library has several strategies, including: a) library
budget planning prepares a book purchasing program from various references or book titles
based on evaluations or interviews from library visitors, b) the library prepares human
resources, personel, and library officers who have experience and can serve all library visitors
so that visitors can use the facilities owned by the library, and c) Setting up a comfortable and
quiet location or reading room in the library.
