Abstract

This study aims to evaluate thematic learning at MI Mitra
PGMI STAIN Ponorogo which includes: 1) the context of teachers in
thematic learning, 2) the process of implementing thematic learning, 3)
factors that support and hinder thematic learning. This research is
qualitative research with the research subject is the early grade
teacher. The research instrument is the researcher himself. Data were
collected through interviews, observation, documentation. The validity
of the data is obtained by triangulation and continuous observation.
Data analysis was carried out since data collection was carried out
using an interactive model consisting of three stages, namely data
reduction, data entry, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that
the context of teachers in thematic learning for the early grades was
appropriate, while for teaching experience was lacking, but the results
of the existing training resulted in teachers being able to apply
thematic learning well. The implementation of thematic learning has
been going well, with indications of lesson plans, as well as displays of
student work and using portfolio assessment for lots of practice and
group work. Support and obstacles in thematic learning from teachers,
students, and the environment but these things can be passed and the
results of thematic learning can be implemented well.
