Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in shaping the character and civilization of the nation, requiring leadership that can adapt to social, cultural, and technological changes. This article highlights the importance of transformational leadership in strengthening the institutional capacity of Islamic educational institutions, particularly Islamic higher education. Transformational leadership emphasizes inspiration, motivation, and the empowerment of organizational members through ideal influence, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. From an Islamic perspective, this model aligns with prophetic values such as siddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah, which demand leaders to be ethical, visionary, and adaptive. The implementation of transformational leadership enables Islamic educational institutions to become more innovative, responsive, and professional in institutional governance, while remaining competitive at national and global levels. By integrating spiritual values with modern management, transformational leadership emerges as a key strategy for enhancing quality, sustainability, and the competitive advantage of Islamic educational institutions..
