Abstract

Change leadership is an attempt by a chairman to create a change in the organization from a state that was initially not good to a good condition or an organization that was good but changed its status to the best. Through the empowerment of all components to have a sense of loyalty to work towards the organization. Good leadership represents a leader who has a sense of responsibility. In addition, for leadership to provide significant change, leaders must meet the following qualifications: leaders can plan, make decisions, influence skills, change orientation, and communicate skills. Leaders also need an approach to managing the changes that occur. The approach consists of transactional, situational, and transformational approaches. This approach is also supported by the distinctive style of leadership. These leadership styles include commanding leadership, affiliative, coaching, democratic, pace-setting and visionary leadership. The leadership roles according to Wibowo are: creating effective work interactions, empowering management functions, setting an example, influencing others, building teams, making decisions, empowering as a way of life, and being able to build commitment.
