Abstract

Education is divided into formal, non-formal and informal education. Informal education (carried out by the family and the environment) it has been felt by everyone from an early age, and it is carried out every day. This informal education is very important because this is where children will learn for the first time how to develop positive attitudes. To support this informal education, formal and non-formal education are needed. This is because education from the family alone is not enough. Formal education is a structured and tiered educational path consisting of basic education, secondary education, and higher education. Formal education (Madrasas) in Indonesia appears as a form of modification of traditional Islamic boarding schools that only teach religious sciences. The emergence of a modern school system in the style of the Dutch government made Muslim scholars establish formal madrasas that were open to indigenous people, especially Muslims. Issuance of SKB 3 The Ministers of 1975 has given equality of madrasas with public schools so that madrassas are able to improve their quality. The emergence of superior madrasas in Indonesia has provided evidence that madrasas are not inferior to public schools. To achieve the goal of becoming a superior madrasa, good management is needed, the support of various parties, and supporting infrastructure.
