Abstract

This community service program aims to support the transformation and efficiency of the library at SDN I Dadapan through a structured library management mentoring approach. Many school libraries, particularly in rural areas, are still facing significant challenges in administrative organization, collection management, and technological integration.

The library at SDN I Dadapan, while having potential, lacked proper cataloging systems, effective circulation procedures, and optimal utilization of space and resources. Through this mentoring program, the team provided technical training, administrative assistance, and introduced basic innovations in library management tailored to the school’s context.

The mentoring process involved the active participation of teachers and staff, emphasizing the development of sustainable systems and a shared understanding of the library’s strategic role in supporting literacy and learning. The results showed improved organization, increased awareness of the importance of the library, and a stronger foundation for building a more functional, efficient, and student-friendly learning space. This program is expected to serve as a replicable model for similar schools seeking to enhance their library management and literacy culture.
