Abstract

Kitab kuning is no longer foreign to Islamic boarding schools. To understand it, you need mastery of Pegon Arabic. However, the phenomenon that occurs is that the pegon reading and writing techniques have not been mastered by prospective students, so they have difficulty translating and understanding the contents of the books read by the teacher.

TPQ Dadapan Hamlet is the subject of assistance in this activity because there are still many children who cannot read and write pegon, and pegon teaching at TPQ Dadapan Hamlet is still very limited in terms of the teacher's abilities. To overcome this, a pegon reading and writing training program was implemented as preparation for children entering Islamic boarding school at TPQ Dusun Dadapan with the hope of increasing children's insight and skills in reading and writing pegon pegon so that it can be used as preparation for children entering Islamic boarding school which cannot be separated from the yellow book which is translated using writing. pegon.

The Pegon reading and writing training program has been successfully implemented for five days. The results were obtained, where the number of training participants had reached the desired target, the targeted training material had been successfully delivered, there was an increase in children's abilities after attending the training, and there was satisfaction among the training participants and even the teachers who accompanied the children in the training program.
