Pembentukan Akhlakul Karimah Sejak Dini melalui Bimbingan Basa Jawa Krama Halus di TPQ Dusun Pengkol, Ngrami, Sukomoro, Nganjuk

Abstract

This community service program was carried out by KPM Group X of STAI Darussalam Krempyang in Dusun Pengkol, Ngrami Village, Nganjuk Regency, from 16 August to 2 September 2025. The program addressed the declining habit of using polite Javanese (basa Jawa krama alus) among children attending three partner Islamic learning centers (TPQ Darunnajah, TPQ Baitur Rokhim, and TPQ Al Islam), a condition considered to weaken the cultivation of akhlakul karimah (noble character) from an early age. The program aimed to teach and preserve krama alus so that santri develop noble character from childhood while strengthening religious culture and local wisdom. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach combined with a service-learning method was applied through five stages: social mapping, program planning, coordination, implementation, and control. Implementation consisted of eight sessions of vocabulary instruction, polite expressions, and conversation practice, involving approximately 55-60 santri from the three TPQ. Quantitative results showed increases in students' mastery of basic krama alus vocabulary from about 25% to 70%, conversational ability from 20% to 65%, application of manners from 35% to 60%, and active participation from 50% to 80%. Qualitatively, santri demonstrated greater courage and awareness in using polite language during daily interaction. The program is discussed through the lens of Islamic education (ta'dib), child developmental psychology, Islamic education management, and religious culture theory, and it is recommended that the mentoring continue beyond the KPM period to sustain its impact on students' character formation
