Pemberdayaan Wali Murid Melalui Workshop Eco Print Ceria (Seni Tekstil Ramah Lingkungan di TK Dharma Wanita II Blitaran Sukomoro Nganjuk)

Abstract

This community service program was carried out to empower parents of TK Dharma Wanita II Blitaran, Sukomoro, Nganjuk, through an eco print workshop, following field observations and a needs assessment that revealed strong interest among mothers in creative and productive handicraft activities during their waiting time at school. The program aimed to introduce basic knowledge and skills in eco print as an environmentally friendly textile art, to raise awareness of the wise use of natural resources, to encourage parental creativity through direct practice, and to strengthen communication between the school and parents. The assisting method applied a participatory action research (PAR) approach combined with service learning, implemented through five stages: social mapping and needs assessment, program planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation or control. The program was implemented on 1 September 2025 at Masjid Al-Huda, Bulak Jeruk Hamlet, Blitaran Village, Sukomoro Subdistrict, and was attended by 18 participants consisting of 5 PKM students and 13 parents. The results show that although attendance did not fully meet the initial target, most participants successfully produced eco print artworks on cloth or tote bags and demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the training. Participants gained new insight into the environmentally friendly use of natural materials, developed practical textile skills, and strengthened the relationship between the school and parents. A further discussion situates these findings within the theories of community empowerment, environmental textile art, management functions, early childhood education management, and community-based human resource development. The program is expected to continue through further mentoring so that the acquired skills can develop into a family-based creative economic opportunity and a sustainable culture of environmental care within the school community
