Transformasi Manajemen Masjid: Pendampingan Pemberdayaan Berbasis Aset Komunitas (ABCD) di Masjid Baitul Muttaqin Desa Bangsri Kertosono

Abstract

A mosque should not merely function as a ritual worship space, but as the center of community civilization (markaz). However, many mosques face a vacuum of management, leading to suboptimal functions. The mosque is the central hub of Muslim community activities in all fields, and its existence is urgent for every aspect of life, a role that has been established since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW as the first foundation of Islamic teaching in the world. Baitul Muttaqin Mosque in Bangsri Village, Kertosono Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency, has existed since 2015 and has been valued by the surrounding community, yet until now its role and function have not been maximized. This is because there has been no dedicated management body, commonly referred to as the mosque takmir. On the other hand, considering the existing potential, many children still travel outside the village to learn the Qur'an, even though the location, facilities, and infrastructure of the mosque actually allow it to organize such learning independently. Through mentoring using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, the service team from STAIDA Nganjuk carried out empowerment mentoring for Baitul Muttaqin Mosque. Through structured stages, the mentoring process obtained support from residents, community leaders, and the village government, as evidenced by assistance in establishing facilities for a Qur'an learning park (Taman Belajar Al-Qur'an) and socialization activities for the mosque's organizational structure. Through a simple yet meaningful process, the mentoring team succeeded in guiding the establishment of the Qur'an Learning Park and the formation of the Takmir management structure of Baitul Muttaqin Mosque. As a follow-up to this service program, and based on an agreement with the assisted partners, the team continues to accompany the activities carried out at the mosque. From this experience, the team concludes that the potential within society is in fact abundant, particularly with regard to religious and social activities; all of it requires the touch, movement of care, and collective thinking needed to participate in community development.
