Spiritual character education from an early age plays a fundamental role in shaping a morally grounded and religiously committed generation. However, students’ understanding of thaharah as a prerequisite for valid worship is often fragmented and limited to theoretical knowledge. This community service study aims to describe the implementation and analyze the effectiveness of a thaharah education program using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach at SD Negeri 2 Pehserut. The program, entitled “Suci Itu Indah”, was designed not only to transfer knowledge about impurity (najis) and ritual states (hadath), but also to strengthen students’ spiritual foundations by optimizing local assets, including teachers, school facilities, and students’ learning enthusiasm. The methods employed consisted of interactive seminars and hands-on practical sessions involving 47 upper-grade elementary school students. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding and practical skills related to taharah, accompanied by increased motivation to perform daily worship correctly and consistently. These findings demonstrate that an asset-based educational model is effective in internalizing religious values among elementary school students. In conclusion, the ABCD-based thaharah education program can serve as an innovative and replicable strategy for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in primary schools, particularly within community-oriented educational settings.
