Abstract

In the digital era and era of globalization, Islamic education faces significant challenges that trigger demands for improved quality and competitiveness of institutions. Good organizational performance is one of the main drivers of improvement in both areas. This article aims to analyze the role of strategic management in enhancing organizational performance in Islamic educational institutions via a literature review. The literature integration method with a meta-synthesis approach was used to combine findings from various studies and build a comprehensive conceptual framework. The results demonstrate that strategic components, such as transformational leadership, strategic innovation, SWOT analysis, the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), and Total Quality Management (TQM), significantly impact operational efficiency, effectiveness, competitiveness, and alignment with Islamic values. The paper contributes to the theory of resource-based management by emphasizing the importance of Islamic culture as a competitive advantage in the context of Islamic educational organizations. In practice, the paper suggests applying SWOT analysis, strengthening operational policies, and using the BSC as a performance evaluation tool. This research is expected to serve as a reference for stakeholders seeking to optimize the performance of Islamic educational organizations through a structured, sustainable strategic management approach.
