Abstract

Interaction between educational institutions and the community has recently been less than harmonious. The rift in relations between madrasahs and the community—as consumers of education—has led to unfavourable public perceptions and opinions regarding the image of educational institutions, which is one of many factors contributing to this situation. Another clear contributing factor is the role of public relations within the organisation. There are many steps a manager must take in public relations management to improve cooperation between madrasahs and the community, including the concepts of management, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Cooperation between madrasahs and parents is expected to produce quality education. The concept requires communication to influence others and elicit a favourable response. Feedback from the recipient of the message is merely a voice or a problem that arises during communication because the recipient has received a message different from that of the communicator.
