Abstract

Pesantren education generally carry the mandate to be able to provide moral education based on shari'a. Today's modern era with a variety of technological advances that resulted must be prepared to face the world's challenges both in terms of intellectual economy or skills. While in pesantren education only focuses on intellectual education alone without providing a vessel of knowledge about skills, then the influence gained by those searchers of science in pesantren will find it difficult in facing modern challenges that exist today. Both pesantren have different programs but in the same goal that is to equip the santri in the field of skills. Skills in question here are mencblon, livestock, gardening, farming, builders, making calendars, sewing and so forth
